Turnover of retail trade in food products grew by 5.0%. Retail trade in non-food products (except for retail sale of automotive fuel) decreased by 1.7 %, but turnover of retail sale of automotive fuel increased by 11.9 %.
Compared to March 2023, the most notable turnover rise was recorded in retail sale of clothing, footwear and leather goods (of 19.0 %), retail sale of information and communication equipment in specialised stores (8.5 %) and retail sale of cosmetics and toiletries (6.1 %). Turnover drop of 24.9 % was registered in non-specialized stores selling mainly non-food products, and it was affected by the change in kind of primary economic activity of separate enterprises, as well retail sale of hardware, instruments, construction materials and sanitary equipment (15.3 %) and retail sale in stalls or markets (9.4 %).
Total retail trade turnover at current prices increased by 3.9% (not taking into account the calendar influence).
Compared to February, the total turnover of retail trade enterprises in March 2024 rose by 1.0 %, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Turnover of retail trade in food products fell by 1.4%. Retail trade in non-food products (except for retail sale of automotive fuel) reduced by 1.0 %, but turnover of retail sale of automotive fuel – increased by 11.1 %.
Compared to February, in March 2024 the total retail trade turnover at current prices (not taking into account seasonality) increased by 14.1 %.
