Complaints have been made in the submissions regarding the quality of treatment and timeliness of diagnosis, the organization of the health care service, and the circulation of medicinal products, as well as non-compliance with hygiene requirements. A total of 341 such submissions have been received, and in 74 cases violations and deficiencies have been detected.
The most frequent complaints have been about services received in specialties such as dentistry - 42, surgery - 23, primary healthcare - 21, gynecology and obstetrics - 18, and psychiatry -15.
On the other hand, a total of 138 complaints from patients or their relatives were received in 2023 regarding the violation of patients' rights.
VI notes that, compared to 2022, submissions regarding the patient's rights to information and respectful attitudes laid down in the Patient Rights Law, complaints were up 32.7% in 2023. Overall, in 2023, there were 10% less submissions than in 2022, when 640 submissions were received.
A total of 574 healthcare quality submissions were reviewed by VI last year.
