Steamy Latvian window to be installed in London

An art show in London next year will feature a large steamy window courtesy of Latvia.

An installation titled 'Matter to Matter' will be Latvia's contribution to the London Design Biennale 2018, taking place 4-23 September 2018 at Somerset House the website of the event shows.

According to the images, it is large and greenish and people such as a lady with a bag and an old man with a beret will be able to draw things on it while an art student looks on and ponders whatever art students ponder.

It looks somewhat like being in the back seat of a car on a frosty morning, but on an epic scale.

Put in more philosophical terms, it will be "a meditative space, in which visitors can explore the relationship between people and nature.

"The installation serves to comment on Latvian design, architecture and technology in the 21st century. Design with a long-term focus will create socially responsible and environmentally friendly design, that can coexist with nature and its inhabitants," says the official website.

However, we are willing to bet the Brits will not be able to resist the opportunity to write "Clean me!" if they get the chance.

The design is by Variant Studio, a design studio based in London and Riga. Their previous designs include this rather impressive pineapple.
