Titled The Ghost of the Fortress, it is making its way across Latvia to Daugavpils' Mark Rothko Center, housed inside the restored Daugavpils Fortress building.
"It's a bandaged war horse," said artist Egons Peršēvics. "When we had finished a model, bandaged soldiers started appearing to us," said Ivona Kalita, who made the sculpture together with Peršēvics.
The sculpture is to arrive in Daugavpils on May 30, well before the Art Night organized on June 9 when it will be unveiled in Latvia's second-largest city.
