€0.4m granted to foreign movies to be shot in Latvia

Latvia has granted €400,810 from the state budget for funding two foreign movies to be shot in Latvia, the National Film Center (NKC) told the media Tuesday.  

The Kazakh Moviq producers' project "Amre" was granted €243,649 with Latvia represented by the Forma Pro Films producing company, while French The Project Film Club project "Sonate" was granted €157,161 with Latvia represented by Tasse Film.

The funding was granted with the goal of supporting films shot in Latvia until November, thus attracting foreign investment into Latvia's movie industry and improving the competitiveness and professional growth of the industry as a whole.
