According to TNS data, PBK commanded 11% of total viewing time with independent commercial channel TV3 in second place on 9.9% and public service broadcaster LTV1 (with which LSM is affiliated) in third place on 9.4%.
The average viewer spent 4 hours, 21 minutes per day staring at the screen in September, a reduction of 10 minutes on August's figure.
Moreover PBK also managed to boost its rating by 1.2% from August - more than any other broadcaster.
The backbone of PBK's content is the re-broadcast of shows produced by Russian state media, though it also offers its own news coverage and other original content.
As previously reported, the re-broadcasting of Russia-made shows has sometimes brought PBK into conflict with Latvia's media regulator which found its coverage of the conflict in Ukraine was biased.
As reported by the Re:Baltica center for investigative journalism some years ago, PBK's ownership structure is extremely complex.
Nevertheless, the PBK formula is clearly continuing to be a hit with audiences.
