Riga Marathon
The annual Riga Marathon is taking place May 13-14. You can still register for a family (3.6k), 6k, 10k, half-marathon and marathon distances.
The weather will be quite warm. Last year about 33 thousand people showed up.
Modern art
A joint exhibition of Jānis Borgs (1946) and Kaspars Groševs (1983), is on show at the Latvian National Museum of Art.
Both artists are pioneers of their respective eras. Jānis Borgs, a designer and art critic, made a number of conceptual works in the 70s, poorly understood at the time say organizers. While Kaspars Groševs is a contemporary experimental and sound artist, founder and curator of the first artist-run gallery in Riga.
Postfolk
The notable Iļģi band are playing at the Arena Riga on Sunday at 6 p.m. celebrating their 35th anniversary. More than 1,000 dancers will join them on stage in what promises to keep your eyes as well as your ears busy.
