Well-wishers with flowers and musical accompaniment packed the terminal to congratulate the all-conquering 20-year-old after one of the most amazing victories in tennis history.
Even the crew flying her home were anxious to have their picture taken with her.

"I feel very good, I'm glad to be home," the star told the waiting crowds.
As well as securing her first grand slam title, Ostapenko's stay in France saw her rise from 47th to 12th in the World Tennis Association official rankings.
And with the Wimbledon grass court championships in the UK starting on July 3, - and which would seem to suit her power game even more than the clay of Roland Garros - her stay at home in Latvia will offer a few days' respite before returning to the international spotlight.
