Three in a row for hockey heroes

Latvia's national ice hockey team made it three wins from three May 9 at the world ice hockey championships in Germany.

In a low-scoring but tense game against Italy, Latvia popped up with a last-gasp winner courtesy of Andris Dzerins to maintain their unbeaten record.

The win will send the legions of already pleasantly surprised Lavian icce hockey fans into a state of euphoria, with qualification for the knockout stages of the tournament now looking well within their grasp.
