Take note – story published 6 years ago

This year a record five Latvian players might become candidates for the NBA draft on June 23, reported Latvian Radio on May 2.

Jānis Timma, Anžejs Pasečņiks, Rodions Kurucs, as well as Verners Kohs and Kārlis Helmanis are among the potential draftees.

However just two of them have been included in Draft Express forecasts.

The forecasting agency puts Rodions Kurucs as potentially being drafted 22nd in the first round by the Brooklyn Nets.

While Anžejs Pasečņiks, currently playing in Spain, might be drafted 26th in the first round by the Portland Trail Blazers.

Currently Latvia has two players at the NBA - Dāvis Bertāns, 24 (San Antonio Spurs) and star player Kristaps Porziņģis, 21 (New York Knicks).
