Printful, a custom print company of Latvia’s Draugiem Group, has invested $1.5m in its second plant in the US, creating 100 new jobs, Draugiem Group representative Janis Palkavnieks told LETA Monday.

"More than 90 percent of our custom print orders are from the US, therefore we are opening another plant there," said Printful head Davis Siksnans, adding that the company’s creative job – programming, design, project management is still organized from Draugiem Group office in Latvia.

Printful currently is looking for a location for its European plant. "Unfortunately, at present we cannot open a plant in Latvia due to shipping costs and terms. It is hard to reach customers in Europe from Latvia, and also it is difficult to receive the necessary supplies, service of equipment," said Siksnans.

Printful is outsourcing textile printing services, offering online stores to sell their own print products without having to invest in production equipment.

Printful employs 30 people in Latvia and more than 100 in its plant in the US. In the coming months the team is expected to grow to 300 people.

Last year Printful posted $8,746,186 in turnover, which makes it the largest and steepest growing Draugiem Group company. Draugiem Group is registered in Malta and includes 15 companies. In 2015 it posted €22,855,193 in turnover and earned a profit of €2,355,376.
