With the shifting colors of autumn overtaking Latvia slowly but surely, there's nevertheless no cause for melancholy or ennui. Let's have fun while there's still something green left to please our eyes. 

Latvian music in Cēsis

Auļi and Tautumeitas will play on September 29 at the Cēsis Vidzeme Concert Hall at 7 p.m. with two very Latvian bands - the mostly instrumental Auļi and the very vocal Tautumeitas - complementing each other in what promises to be a cheerful and fun night.

New season at Mark Rothko center

The Daugavpils Mark Rothko Center has opened a new season of exhibitions by several distinguished artists. On October 1 you can see them for reduced prices, making it even cheaper to see art at Latvia's easternmost reaches. 

"We see intricate detail and mythological imagery of the single time tariff in the works of a distinguished Latvian graphical artist – Gunārs Krollis; balance and peace in the compositions of a Belgian photographer – Yves Ullens, evanescence and change in the solo exhibition of Ināra Petrušēvica, emotion and force in the watercolour walls of Baiba Priedīte, diversity and variety in the exhibition “Infinity of Art – the Polish Perspective” and a different view of today in the body of work by the participants of the international painting symposium “Mark Rothko 2017”," organizers say.

Fink in Riga

The British folk-rock, blues and indie band Fink will perform in Palladium Riga on September 29 at 7.30 p.m. The trio are visiting Latvia to do a support tour ahead of their upcoming album.
