Latvia sends condolences to Finland over deadly attack

Latvian officials have sent condolences to Finland after a knife attack in Turku claimed two lives and injured half a dozen people.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers its deepest condolences to Finland in relation to an attack in the city of Turku in the south-west of the country on 18 August, when a man stabbed a number of people, two of whom have died and at least six others have been wounded.

"The Ministry expresses its deepest sympathy with the families and friends of the victims, as well as wishing a rapid recovery to the injured," said a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
