PM Kučinskis: Brexit rallies rest of EU

The crisis caused by the UK decision to leave the EU is rallying the rest of the 27 member states, Latvia's Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis told Latvian Television Thursday after Wednesday's European Council meeting.

"There was amazing unanimity among all the countries" over not punishing the UK for its decision, the PM said.

"It seems that the crisis unites the rest of the member countries that understand they have to continue working," said Kučinskis.

"There'll also be an analysis of mistakes and mishaps about the possibly excessive bureaucracy and the requirements towards member states," said Kučinskis.

Kučinskis also said that the life of Latvians in the UK will not become worse, however there might be possible new restrictions for those arriving after the UK leaves.
