On February 8, US tanks and a variety of other military equipment arrived as scheduled in the Ādaži military base on the northern outskirts of Riga, reported LSM's Russian-language service.
The vehicles, which include 15 of the famous M1 Abrams tanks (earlier on we reported about 14 -- sorry!), were sent from Poland by rail.
Ahead of the equipment came more than 200 US military personnel, who arrived early February 5.

The deployment comes in advance of the arrival in the Spring of a multinational NATO battalion led by Canada which is designed to deter any aggression from Russia.
