LTV's Panorama reported from the Ādaži military training range near Riga where the tanks were doing their thing alongside Bradley fighting vehicles and other pieces of military hardware.
As well as checking that everything was working properly, the exercise provided suitably dramatic footage.
Footage of the tanks firing live ammunition was also shared widely on social media, providing a reminder that US troops are already in place in Latvia, with a Canadian contingent due to join them later this year as part of NATO's plan to beef up its eastern flank.
The Latvian army shared this footage, complete with a suitably martial soundtrack.
