Passenger evacuation

Passengers are lead out by the crew giving directions.

As reported, flight BT641 performed an emergency landing Saturday. Problems were established with the aircraft right after takeoff and the plane safely landed after doing rounds in the air in for two hours near the airport, apparently in an effort to lose fuel.

There were 63 passengers, including two children and an infant, and four crew members on board. None were injured in the course of the landing.

airBaltic spokesman Jānis Vanags said that the plane had a problem with the front chassis.

Māris Gorodcovs, head of the Civil Aviation Agency said that Saturday's landing of an airBaltic plane was the first such incident in the history of Rīga Airport, and that any incident of a plane landing without fully lowering the landing gear is a serious one.
