The donated money will make it possible to provide 35,812 hours of support and assistance to those who are still considering becoming foster parents, adopters or guardians, as well as those who have already taken in children from children's homes.

The largest single donation was of 55,000 euros from the Draugiem group social media company.

As previously reported, Dod Pieci ran December 17 to 23 and involved DJs broadcasting frmo a plastic box in historic Dome square in the center of Riga. Members of the public could get requests played by pledging 5 euros.

More information and the chance to pledge more money can be found at www.plecs.lv and www.ziedot.lv.
