Latvian troops to join military exercise in Estonia

Nearly 190 Latvian soldiers will take part in Kevadtorm (Spring Storm) military training exercise in Estonia this month, the Latvian Defense Ministry told LETA Monday.

The annual drill in Estonia is to take place from May 2 to May 20.

This year's Kevadtorm will see the participation of some 6,000 troops from ten countries: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, US, UK, Germany, Poland, Canada and Finland.

The aim of the exercise is to improve the soldiers' planning skills and the ability to perform high-intensity operations in a multinational environment.
