Latvia's population decrease 3rd greatest in EU

Eurostat has published data that shows that Latvia's population decline has been the third greatest in the EU in 2014 when counting per 1000 persons living in the country. 

The population of Latvia declined by 7.7 per 1000 inhabitants.

There were 1.9861 mln inhabitants in Latvia in 2014.

Only Greece and Cyprus had a larger decline at -8.4‰ and 12.9‰ respectively. 

The overall population growth in the EU was at 2.2 per 1000 people.
