Website invites disgruntled Americans to move to Latvia

A Latvian website is inviting disgruntled Americans to move to Latvia, with the slogan "Keep Latvia great".

The website, moveto.lv (warning: it plays John Denver) features a brief profile of Latvia along with tips on moving to the country.

It links to the Latvian embassy in the United States and info about cheap tickets from New York to Rīga. It also links Latvia's Citizenship and Migration Affairs Office.

Although the website does not mention Donald Trump's election as President of the United States, it is assumed that it capitalizes on jokes made by US celebrities like Lena Dunham and Miley Cyrus that they'd move to another country should Trump become president.

The website's co-author Janis Kreilis told LSM: "Right after Trump got elected we got a quick idea to turn this outcome into a joke and promote the name of Latvia at the same time. We never thought the site would get outside the circle of our friends."
