Air temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will be +17 to + 23 degrees Celsius during the day, and at night +8 to + 13 degrees though early on Saturday morning the temperature in some parts of Vidzeme could be as low as +5 C.
It will not be a particularly sunny weekend, with the sun often behind the clouds and there will be rain, particularly in Kurzeme and Zemgale, but less often in Vidzeme and Latgale.
Next week will begin with thankfully warmer, sunnier weather on Monday and temperatures could reach a pleasant +25 C.
However the respite will be brief with a cooler air system approaching from the south west bringing with it yet more heavy rain and concomitant feelings of utter disdain for this sad travesty of a summer.
