"Ezera Skaņas"
"Ezera Skaņas" (Sounds of the Lake) is an annual sunrise performance in the middle of the Lake Kāla (Saulesmājas, Vestiena, Madona Municipality).
It is a musical event that starts before sunrise at 4:00 am, in the middle of the lake. People attend the event in boats, darkness and silence surround, a floating stage appears in the lake and the first sounds are heard. The music rises with the light and culminates with the sunrise.
In 2024, the Sounds of the Lake program will use artistic expression to explore the unique ability of human consciousness to find connections in abstract patterns.
New this year, the Sounds of the Lake will take place over two days and the musical performances will continue on land in the Festen harbor until the afternoon of August 11. Visitors will stay overnight in tents in the harbor area, enjoying music, conversation and the nature of Lake Kāla.
