Latvian Architecture Award nominees announced

The jury of the Latvian Architecture Award 2024 (LAGB 2024) has nominated 16 candidates for the final, jury chairman Miķelis Putrāms announced at a press conference on Thursday, September 12, LETA reports.

The nominees are the office building "Verde" in Riga, the private house "W māja" in Pārdaugava, the reconstruction and restoration of the Riga Castle Convent, the second and third stages of the project "Merks Viesturdārzs", the exhibition "Astra Zariņa - The Power of Nature", the "Composer's Apartment" in the historic center of Riga, the reconstruction of the Red Cross Hospital in Riga, the private house in Kurzeme "Mūrmuiža", the reconstruction of a building in Ventspils, the Sillamäe school building in Estonia, the new construction and landscaping of a multifunctional services center in Gātiņciems, Ventspils, an international college with a dormitory in Piņķi, a holiday house in Cēsis, the New Riga Theater, a twin house for two families in Ādaži and the reconstruction of the technology centre of the Kuldīga Technology and Tourism Technical College.

This year, the selection jury evaluated 47 objects and 7 processes.

The award ceremony will take place at Riga Circus on October 18.

From October 14 to 19, the traditional Architecture Week will take place, offering events dedicated to architecture that will appeal to different audiences.

LAGB is organised by the Latvian Association of Architects with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia and other partners.
