Three for the Weekend: Spooky Season

Are you ready for fear and adrenaline – or perhaps you prefer existential dread? This weekend offers it all.

Ghost Night at the Botanical Garden

The National Botanical Garden is hosting a family-friendly Halloween night event, the Ghost Night. The events will take place October 25 and 26, from 6 PM to 10 PM, at the Salaspils National Botanical Garden.

You will be able to choose one of three paths (or all of them) based on their level of scariness and spookiness.

A light show, creative activities, and spooky snack fair is also in store, as well as a relaxation space with the good witch.

Bauska Halloween Park

From October 17 to November 10, the annual thematic Halloween Park is open at the Bauska Hillfort.

The organizers say: "During this time, the park will turn into a fairy-tale place, where miracles and adventures await in every corner of the park!" The park is open daily from 3 PM to 10 PM.

Decorations, mazes, rides, pumpkins, witches, and all spooky stuff will await you.

Liminal Limbo

Perhaps not spooky per se, but might fill you with existential dread – the contemporary art space TUR (Tallinas Street 10-3, Riga) is opening an exhibition created by the generation between Gen Z and Millennials.

"The premise of the exhibition is for these artists to create personal reflections on the times we live in, specifically from the perspective of a generation that has just begun to arrive on the scene and participate in cultural conversations with voices that carry significant and insightful reflections on humanity and the future course of history," say the organizers of the event.

The opening event takes place October 25 at 6 PM. More on the Facebook event.
