Christmas Market in Rīga's Old Town opens this week

The Old Town Christmas Market in Doma Square will open on Friday, November 29 and will remain open until 2 January 2025. This will be the 24th year that the market will bring people together to celebrate Christmas and enjoy a wide cultural program, the organizers said.

Doma Square will be the place to see and buy homemade products and crafts, souvenirs, as well as a variety of food and drink from more than 80 traders.

On Saturday, November 30 , at 17.00, the Riga Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place. On December 1, the First Sunday of Advent, Elizabete Gaile will perform at 17.00.

Latvian craftspeople and home producers will be selling wickerwork, wooden products and toys, knitted items, amber and silver jewelry, games, decorations, leather goods, candles, as well as various food and drinks - honey, gingerbread, hemp, meat products, jams, sauces, syrups, hot and cold beverages.

On December 31 , the New Year's Eve event will be celebrated with a performance by the group "Ballīšu krusttēvi" at 20:00 and DJ Toms Grēviņš at 22:00, who will invite everyone to dance together until 02:00.

Monday - Thursday, 11:00-21:00

Friday - Saturday, 10:00-22:00

Sunday 10:00-20:00

Opening hours on public holidays:

December 24 - 10:00-20:00

December 25, 26 - 10:00-20:00

December 31 - 10:00-02:00

January 1 - 12:00-20:00
