Rīga International Film Festival names opening night movie

On October 17, Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF, 17-27 October) will open with a screening of Uģis Olte film TESA MAN (2024), it has been confirmed.

The poetic music film will have its world premiere on the festival’s opening night, and includes musical rhythms by heavy metal trio Tesa and hypnotic landscapes of Latvia's Vidzeme region.

Tickets to the festival opening night are available on the festival website rigaiff.lv.

Festival Director Liene Treimane said: "It’s hard to conceive a better combination for the RIGA IFF opening night than the breathtaking amalgam of music and nature in this cinematic work of art, celebrating its world premiere by reverberating through the opulent space of the oldest cinema of Riga, Splendid Palace. The unusual music film has brought together an exceptional crew of cinematographers, artists, and musicians, all united by the convincing vision of the passionate director. It will be a vivid and potent start to the festival’s 11th edition."

From 17 to 27 October, RIGA IFF will serve up more than 100 screenings of bold and fresh filmmaker visions, selected from the world’s most prestigious film festival programs, as well as from Baltic Sea region cinema.
