The festival, which will run today through December 3, will open with the screening of the Swedish-Danish silent horror film Haxan (1922), directed by Benjamin Christensen, with live score provided by improviser Dana Indane, flutist Vineta Lagzdina, and multimedia artist Arvis K. Pogo.
The festival's program includes film screenings, the Reality Check conference that will bring together audiovisual art students and professionals, a selection of films for children and youth, short films nominated for this year's European Film Academy's awards, lectures, concerts, and other events.
The festival's topic for this year is "Outsiders".
