The 20th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival announced its winners at its "black carpet" Awards Ceremony in the Estonian capital and the Latvian contender scooped the award for best cinematography.
Cinematographer Gints Berzins and the film itself was honored "For its unforgettable images of human endurance amongst nature´s harshest beauty," according to the award citation.

The best film of the year was named as Israel's A Quiet Heart, described as "an inspiring journey towards hope and courage."
