Dance festival "Vides deja" takes place for tenth year

The international contemporary dance festival “Vides deja” will take place from August 3 to 9 in Līgatne and will end on 9 August in Piņķi, the festival's organizers said July 22.

The “Vides deja” festival brings together artists and dance enthusiasts at international level, offering environmentally themed dance shows. The theme of the festival is “Future and ecology'.

Around 40 professional artists - choreographers, dancers, musicians, video artists, playwrights - from Austria, Iceland, Poland, Lithuania, Portugal and Latvia will participate in the festival.

Within the framework of the festival, environmental dance performances, contemporary dance, improvisation, contact improvisation and other classes related to the study of body and environment are organized for both performing arts professionals and those interested in contemporary dance, regardless of the level of preparation. Everyone is invited to attend the festival's performances. Everything during the festival is created in harmony with the environment, local nature and history, focusing on ecological and nature-friendly organisation.
