These films reflect the extraordinary lives of people in Latvia and each year serve as a blueprint of the state of affairs in the private lives and aspirations of today's Latvian residents.
This year's final film to be featured, titled Miracle Hunters: Zilaiskalns, is about Zilaiskalns (Blue Hill), an allegedly sacred place and its own local spirit man Anatolijs. The place is associated with the Marta of the Blue Hill, a legendary woman with extraordinary abilities.
During the filming, enthusiasts started drilling works at the hill to look for an ancient building supposedly there. "With this film I wanted to accentuate whether you should dig up a holy place, keeping in mind that Zilaiskalns is, after all, a protected location," said director Liene Laviņa-Kalnaella in an interview with LSM.
