Four more acts progress towards Eurovision

Take note – story published 7 years ago

The second heat of Latvia's search for a Eurovision contestant, Supernova, took place February 12 with 11 acts fighting it out for four places in the semi-final next week.

Shortly before the show went on air, it was revealed there would a be a change in the line-up of the jury giving their verdicts on the acts, with hopes high that a woman might actually be included.

However this proved to be a politically-correct fantasy with singer Intars Busulis instead joining the panel to keep it 100% male and offer advice and guidance based on his experience as Latvia's Eurovision entrant in 2009 when he finished last in the second semi-final.

The acts progressing to the semi final were two already established bands: Triana Park and My Radiant You, and two unknown solo performers: Santa Danelevica and LSM's personal favorite, a bespectacled young student called The Ludvig.

Indeed, such was our liking for The Ludvig, we are tempted to abandon all neutrality and say he should go to Kyiv in May to represent Latvia.

But as LSM is affiliated with broadcaster LTV, that would be wrong, so we won't do it.

Anyway, here is his song. Ask any male for an opinion.

The next Supernova show is February 19, featuring all eight songs selected so far.
