Jazz stars Charlie Hunter and Lucy Woodward on the way to Latvia

World-famous jazz guitarist Charlie Hunter and singer Lucy Woodward will be among the headline acts at the Art of Riga Jazz festival taking place November 15 and 16, organizers have anounced.

The duo will give some high-class clout to the festival which features in the best in modern and improvisational jazz sounds and also includes the international a cappella group Accent and steel guitarist Roosevelt Collier among the highlights.

For 16 years and nearly 30 albums, American jazz star Charlie Hunter has won plaudits as composer and performer alike, having worked with artists including Norah Jones, Mos Def, John Mayer, Angelo and countless other musicians.

Meanwhile British-American singer Lucy Woodward is the owner of a strong voice, which in addition to turning out four albums of her own has seen her performing with Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker and Barbara Streisand.

Hunter and Woodward recently released their debut album together, Music! Music! Music! and will also be hosting a masterclass in the legendary Latvian Radio Studio 1 on the morning of November 16.
