Latvia holds the last place in the Baltics. Lithuania has surpassed Estonia, ranking 30th, down two positions from last year, while Estonia has retained the 31st place among 61 countries.
Among the 61 world's countries ranked by the IMD, the most competitive countries are the Hong Kong, Switzerland, and the US. The top ten countries also include Singapore, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway and Canada.
The World Competitive Ranking has been published since 1989, assessing each country's macroeconomic indicators, efficiency of the government and business operations, education, development of technologies and health care services.
