Latvian modern art on show in the Big Apple

Some of the best in contemporary Latvian modern art will go on show Wednesday at a new exhibition in New York, USA.

Ambassador to the US Andris Razāns and UN representative Jānis Mažeiks  will open the exhibtion titled 'Lilijas baseins' (Lily's pool) on 21 January at the Art In General modern art gallery.

The exhibition is described as "a multi-Latvian joint exhibition of artists implemented by the Centre for Contemporary Art kim? Riga and Exhibition Center of Modern Art "Art in General" New York.

The exhibition features works by some of the brightest stars of the Latvian rt world including Kaspars Groševs, Ieva Kraule, Darja Meļņikova, Miks Mitrēvics, Kristīne Kursiša, Evita Vasiļjeva and Armands Zelčs.

The exhibition is included among the cultural program of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and will be open to the public from 22 January to 21 February.
