Latvia's Museum night had over 130,000 visitors

More than 190 Latvian museums and other public establishments opened their doors for Museum Night on May 14. The State accredited museums had received 133,458 visitors during the night, but the total attendance rates are higher, the representatives of the Ministry of Culture said May 16.

The most visitors accumulated in Rīga and Pierīga – 51,416 people, 20,436 in Kurzeme, 20,034 in Zemgale, 15,944 in Vidzeme, 15,628 in Latgale.v

All events took place under the slogan #TiekamiesTagad (Let's meet now) following the two-year-long  restrictions imposed due to Covid-19.

In Riga, more than 53 cultural sites opened doors for visitors to museums at night, while local government museums, companies, non-governmental organizations and other cultural sites held interesting activities in at least 133 locations.
