Learn English with Renārs Kaupers!

Popular Latvian musician Renārs Kaupers, a successful solo artist as well as being front man of legendary group Prāta Vētra (Brainstorm) has a charming new proposition - learn the English alphabet with the help of his latest ditty!

Having written an A-B-C song for children a few years ago that helped them learn the Latvian alphabet, which despite using Latin characters has a few differences to the English alphabet, the soft-voiced singer is back and is now branching out into the world of English language teaching.

Titled Awesome Beetle's Colors Dance, the lyrics take us on a  brief but enjoyable journey through a series of vivid word associations, all underpinned by the same catchy backbeat as his Latvian effort.

In fact, it is possible your own English alphabet skills need a bit of a polish (ours at LSM certainly do) so you might like to sing along with the words, which are reproduced below:

"Awesome Beetles Color Dirty Elephant. Five Gorgeous Hippopotamuses Inspire the Jaguar. Kangaroos Like Marmelade. Naughty Octopuses Photograph the Queen. The Royal Spider Teaches an Unhappy Vampire. Wariors X-ray a Yellow Zebra. So easy come out in the sun learning ABCs is so much fun."

Now you know the lyrics, it's time to sing along. Take it away, Renārs!

Okay, now you know how to sing along, you need to learn how to do the dance that goes with it. Luckily, Renars has supplied a full instructional video to teach you the correct body positions to adopt at all times. Learn it below.

And he's still not done. Just when we thought it was impossible to get any cuter, the affable popster presents us with an animated version in which the aforementioned colorful beetle springs into life. If this doesn't help you shed the mid-winter blues, we give up. Enjoy!
