New Mark Rothko exhibit in Daugavpils

On Sunday about six thousand attended the three-year anniversary of the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center that unveiled six paintings of the Daugavpils-born abstract expressionist painter.

The exhibition features one painting from Rothko's realist period, two from his surrealist period, one from his transition to classic Rothko-style and two from his classical period.

The celebration also unveiled exhibits of local and international artists, with visitors invited to look at a total of seven arrangements of art on their visit to the spacious Mark Rothko Art Center.
