Three for the Weekend in Latvia: Grand gardens, a jazzy jaunt and a cool offering

Take note – story published 1 year ago

There's plenty to see and do in Latvia this weekend, but if you need a few ideas, here's a trio of suggestions.

Rundale Garden Festival

On July 2, 2022, the Rundāle Castle Museum invites visitors to celebrate the 14th Rundāle Castle Garden Festival, which will be dedicated to the theme - the reconstruction of the historical garden.

The annual Garden Festival organized by the Rundāle Palace Museum has been held since 2007. It is particularly interesting to gardening professionals, garden lovers and others with green fingers, as well as tourists. Families with children are welcome.

During the festival, it is possible not only to see the garden, park and palace, but also to learn something new, enjoy musical and theatrical performances, buy roses or other garden plants, and products of local artisans.

National Library Exhibitions

If the relentless heat is getting to you, why not head to the Latvian National Library? Not only is it air conditioned, but you can expand your mind as you cool down by visiting several exhibitions that are currently in place, from 'B for Baroque' to an exhibition about James Joyce's international influence.
