LAMPA conversation festival
The annual LAMPA Conversation Festival returns August 20-21, and includes various events that will take place in English (with simultaneous translation provided into Latvian, too). As usual the event is centered on the city of Cēsis, with communal viewing sites all over Latvia. The festival will be available free of admission both in person and live at the website festivalslampa.lv where you can find full details of all events.

Book fair
Tallinas Street square (entrance: Tallinas Street 10 or Miera Street 34) in Rīga is organizing a book fair August 21, including workshops and meeting various Latvian authors. The fair is open from 11:00 to 17:00 and entrance is free. For the event program, see the Facebook event.
The Sound Poets on the water
The Latvian band The Sound Poets are performing live August 21, at 21:00, on Dole island. The spectators will be able to enjoy the concert in boats provided by the organizers. Entrance with a Covid-19 certificate. Tickets available here.
