Photography, trance music, and the art of Alex Grey are among this weekend's major events curated for a younger audience.

Investigating stock photos at ISSP gallery

Until May 8, the young photographer Annija Muižule's exhibition Joyful Businessmen Having Fun in the Office is open at ISSP. The artist uses stock photos and "investigates the commodification of the image as well as the interaction between photography and words, thus offering a humorous and critical analysis of contemporary photography".

Eastern European Lovers at Aleponija

The new trance outfit Eastern European Lovers is playing at the Aleponija bar at 9 p.m. "According to the theories of Elon Musk, when your hips move at 130 to 140 BPM, it's as if you have no butt," the organizers say.

The art of Alex Grey in Four to Seven

Meanwhile the Four to Seven art gallery is hosting a retrospective of Alex Grey, known for illustrating the cover art for the band Tool. Curator Robert Goldschmitt is on Saturday at 7 p.m. holding a lecture on the psychedelic-associated artist with Grey's influence on Latvian postmodern art explored by Krists Feldmanis. There'll be music, too.
