Music and poetry in the art of song

On Saturday, January 22, an early music concert Music and poetry in the art of song will take place at the Bauska Castle museum. Nora Kalniņa (Latvia) Mauro Pinciaroli (Italy), and Lithuanian Music and Theater Academy students will perform pieces from the 14th – 17th century composers like Guillaume de Machaut (c.1300-1377), John Dowland (1563-1626), Francesca Caccini (1587-1641), Tarquinio Merula (1595-1665), Stefano Landi (1587-1639), Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643), Barbara Strozzi (1619-1677), Girolamo, and others.

Salt on my Asphalt 2.2

Artist Uģis Albiņš' exhibition Salt on my Asphalt 2.2 unveils Friday, January 21 at the 427 gallery. The organizers state: 

In his work, the artist tackles self-proposed problems of creating new forms by using a variety of methods - 3D modeling, 3D printing, casting in plaster, silicon, 3D scanning, CNC milling, etc. By doing so he reflects on production industries while interacting with architecture and turning the surrounding landscapes of impact into metaphoric expressions.

Barricades commemoration concert with Ieva Akuratere

On Saturday, January 22, 16:00, cultural venue Zeit in Līgatne will host a Barricades-themed concert with Ieva Akuratere, Leons Sējāns and Matīss Akuraters.
