The film “PANIC” is "the cry of a woman's soul, a provocation of the roles of a woman". “PANIC” is included in the short film category of the “Off-Limits” program of the Annecy festival, where eight works will compete. Its author is Helen Ora, formerly known as Elīna Dzelme and Elīna Maligina.
The award-winning director Vladimirs Leščovs's film “Comeback” is included in the animation short-film competition program, and its description is laconic: “A long-lost childhood passion can come back someday.”
Annecy festival has been taking place since the 1960s, when animators separated from Cannes festival, and it is one of the most prestigious and important festivals of animation films around the world. Two Latvian films have triumphed in recent years: the film “Away” (2019) by Gints Zilbalodis and Ilze Burkovska-Jakobsena's documentary “My Favorite War” (2020). Annecy will take place from 14 to 19 June this year.
