In the category "Best Translation of Foreign Literature", the poet and translator Arvis Viguls won the award for Arkady Dragomoshchenko's selection of poetry "Elegy" from Russian. This work was published by the publishing house "Orbīta".

In the category "Best Original Literary Work for Children", the laurels were won by Lotte Vilma Vītiņa's poetry work "Water Tower", from publishing house "Liels un Mazs".

Anna Belkovska's debut poetry collection "Veranda", published by Valters Dakša, received the prize in the nomination "Brightest Debut".

This year, the jury also decided to award two special prizes - one to Artis Ostups for the updating of texts relevant to the history of world literature, culture and art in "Manifesto. From Futurism to the Present", published by Neputns, and another to Margarita Carbonaro, a translator, who received a special award for her contribution to the translation of works by Latvian authors into Italian.

The poet, prose writer and translator Daina Avotiņa was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Prize for her significant contribution to literature.

The reader's award was determined in cooperation with the public media portal LSM in a public vote, which lasted from March 29 to April 22.

As a result of the vote, Lauris Gundars received the readers' award for the novel "Becoming a Stranger, or a Story about Gunārs A.", published by "Dienas grāmata".

The winners were presented with LALIGABA lamps as well as cash prizes.

The Latvian Literature of the Year Award (LALIGABA) is the most important event of the year in the field of literature in Latvia. It provides professional evaluation of literary works and recognition of the authors for the most outstanding works published in Latvian literature of the year.
