Introverted Latvian writer's wardrobe takes a road trip

Take note – story published 5 years ago

The 'I Am Introvert' information campaign about the withdrawn nature of Latvia's literary set was one of the surprise hits of this year's London Book Fair, as reported by LSM at the time.

Now one of the things that made it such a hit - a rack of fairly unremarkable coats - has been released in Latvia so that members of the public can signal their appreciation of local writers just like the agents and publishers of London.

A special "Introvert wardrobe" will be available August 14th until the end of the month at the bookstore "Janis Roze" in the "Spice" shopping mall in Rīga, so passers-by can don a jacket and take a selfie in front of a suitably desolate backdrop. The coats have a selection of quotations from Latvian authors on the back so pick the one that best suits your mood - be it Bankovskis or Ikstena - and become a real life literary introvert for a few moments.
