Gailums, an Olympic debutant, sent the javelin far enough on his first attempt, but it was not counted.
The second attempt was counted, but Gailum's result was quite poor - 77.26 meters - but he managed to at least reach 25th place.
On his third attempt, the javelin went over the 80-metre mark, but Patriks got injured and stepped a little on the line during the throw. As a result, the attempt will not count and the injury will most likely take time to heal.
In his group, Patriks is ranked 11th.
Čakss failed his first shot and it was not counted. The second attempt was also without result, as was the third. So Čakšs ends his participation in the Olympic Games without a result.
