The first discipline in Saturday's final was a hurdle course with a drawn horse. This time the draw was not as successful as before, or so the trainer said. The trainer was right - the cooperation with the white beauty was not very successful - three downed fences, which gave 279 points out of the maximum 300. After this discipline with 519 points, Pāvels was in fifth position in the overall standings.
The next discipline in the final was fencing. In the bonus round, Pavel did not add to his points but kept his fifth position.
In the 200 meters, Pāvels swam in the third heat. Švecovs swam the distance in 2 minutes and 3.71 seconds, earning 303 points in the swim. After this discipline, he had 822 points and was in eighth position.
The last discipline of the competition was laser run. This discipline was very unsuccessful for Pāvels. He was one minute and 43.5 seconds behind the winner.
In the past days, Pāvels showed strong results and in the semi-finals he finished sixth in his group with 1506 points.
At the Tokyo Olympics, Švecovs finished 14th.
