"It is a great honor to represent his country for the second time at the Olympic games and a special honor to become the flag bearer of the Latvian delegation at the opening ceremony of the games," Miezis was quoted by the Latvian Olympic Committee (LOK).
"I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to carry the Latvian flag at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic games. I hope the Paris Olympics will be a real celebration of friendship, sport and excellence," said Graudiņa.
LOK President Raimonds Lazdiņš previously said that about half of Latvian Olympians at the Paris games could participate in the opening, because the ceremonies are time-consuming events, and some athletes will have the competition in the second half of the Olympics, and they will arrive in France later.
Latvia will be represented at the Paris Olympics by 29 athletes in 14 disciplines. The Paris Olympics will run from July 26 to August 11.
