On Saturday, drivers competed in eight speed stages in the west of the country. Finland's Kalle Rovanperä leads the way with his Toyota team-mate, Frenchman Sébastien Ogier in second.
Large crowds turned out to watch the cars speed past and send up large plumes of dust. The competition will conclude on Sunday. It is the first time Latvia has hosted the World Rally Championship.
