2015 saw public transport numbers dip in Riga

The Riga municipal public transportation company, Rigas Satiksme, carried a total of 146.8 million passengers in 2015, which is 2.4% less than last year, the company's spokesman Viktors Zakis told LETA newswire. 

The largest number of passengers, or 68.656 million people, was carried by buses last year. Also, 44.752 million people were carried by trolleybuses and 33.398 million people by trams in 2015.

Rigas satiksme carried 150.527 million passengers in 2014.

Fully owned by the Riga City Council, Rigas satiksme provides bus, tram and trolleybus services to passengers in Riga.

Rigas Satiksme increased fares from 0.60 euros to 1.15 euros per ride on February 1 this year.
